Garage Fuzz releases Powerplant EP to mark 35 years

Brazilian melodic hardcore band Garage Fuzz has released the EP ‘Powerplant’ to mark 35 years since their formation in Santos in 1991. The EP is the third recording from the band’s current lineup, which includes Victor Franciscon (vocals), Wagner Reis (guitar), Nando Bassetto (guitar), Fabrício de Souza (bass), and Daniel Siqueira (drums).

Recorded at OddSounds studio in São Paulo and produced by Gustavo Scaranelo, the work features five new tracks and a new version of the song ‘Jaded’. The production blends the band’s signature fast, heavy sound with modern arrangements and melodic vocal lines.

Thematically, ‘Powerplant’ uses the metaphor of a continuously running power plant to explore the pressures of contemporary capitalism, urban life, mental exhaustion, and the anxiety of constant connectivity. The lyrics address the tension of living in a state of permanent productivity and the struggle to find personal space amidst modern routines.
