Garanti BBVA hosts event revealing new research on Turkish youth
The results of the ‘Türkiye'nin Gençleri’ (Youth of Turkey) research were unveiled during the second ‘Youniverse: Journey into the Universe of Youth’ event held at Salt Galata. Organized by anbean with Garanti BBVA as the main partner, the event brought together approximately 120 professionals from 95 different companies to discuss the changing values, expectations, and future outlook of young people.
The research, conducted by FutureBright Group, surveyed 1,007 individuals aged 17–26 in Turkey, including 403 students, 403 employees, and 201 young people staying at home. Key findings highlight a deep integration of artificial intelligence in daily life. Approximately 43% of youth consider AI a part of their lives and use it almost every day, while 53% consult AI to develop their ideas.
A notable finding indicates that 65% of the surveyed youth reported having spoken to an artificial intelligence at least once when feeling bad, rather than turning to an acquaintance. While AI is increasingly viewed as a necessity rather than a novelty, the research also notes that some young people harbor concerns regarding its impact on human thinking and creativity.
