Gard Rhodanien hosts inaugural welcome event for new residents
The Gard Rhodanien agglomeration held its first-ever welcome evening for new residents on Wednesday, October 7, at the Domaine Céladon in Pont-Saint-Esprit. The event aimed to strengthen ties with those who have recently moved to the territory, which comprises 44 communes.
Local officials, including Pont-Saint-Esprit Mayor Valère Segal and President Christophe Serre, presented the region's assets, ranging from its architectural heritage and scenic landscapes to its industrial importance, such as the Marcoule site. The gathering also highlighted the intercommunal services provided to citizens, including waste management, childcare, and economic support.
The initiative is part of the Prov'occ approach, launched in 2024 to attract and integrate new inhabitants by providing them with essential local information and a sense of community belonging.
