Gard Steiro to lead Schibsted News Media division

Gard Steiro is stepping down as editor-in-chief and CEO of VG to take over leadership of the News Media division at Schibsted. Steiro, who has been with VG for 11 years and served as editor-in-chief since 2017, stated that the move is intended to apply his experience toward developing all media outlets within the Schibsted group.

Steiro will assume his new role immediately but will continue in his current position at VG until a successor is appointed. He will also lead the recruitment process for the new VG editor-in-chief. He succeeds Siv Juvik Tveitnes, who will remain as Schibsted's CEO.

The News Media division includes several prominent publications such as VG, Aftenposten, Bergens Tidende, Stavanger Aftenblad, E24, Podme, Aftonbladet, Svenska Dagbladet, and Omni.
