Gardaland fire quickly contained, no injuries, area closed for safety checks

On 28 July 2026, just before 14:00, a fire broke out in the Far West wooden set of Gardaland Resort in Castelnuovo del Garda, directly beneath the Raptor roller‑coaster. The blaze produced tall columns of black smoke and engulfed a wooden tower.

Emergency teams from the park and local fire services extinguished the flames within about an hour. No visitors were injured or suffered smoke inhalation; guests in the vicinity were orderly evacuated while the remainder of the park stayed open.

The affected zone, including the Raptor track, was sealed off for technical inspections and repairs before it can reopen. Investigators have not yet determined the cause, considering a nearby fuel tank and the wooden tower as possible ignition sources. Regional President Luca Zaia publicly thanked the firefighters and other responders for their swift action.
