Garden Finance taken offline after $450,000 USDT hack across four blockchains
Garden Finance temporarily disabled its application after an attacker breached the off‑chain database of an independent solver. The breach allowed the thief to insert fraudulent transaction records that triggered releases of funds from the protocol’s hash‑time‑locked contracts (HTLCs) on Ethereum, Base, Arbitrum and BNB Smart Chain, draining roughly $450,000 worth of USDT.
The protocol said its smart contracts and user funds were not affected because only assets owned by the compromised solver were involved. Garden Finance engaged security firms zeroShadow, Quantstamp and Blockaid to trace the stolen assets and assist recovery. This incident follows a similar 2025 exploit that cost the platform an estimated $11.4 million.
Garden Finance’s response included pulling the app offline while engineers isolated the affected infrastructure and reviewed the incident to prevent further losses.
