Brentwood Bay restaurant fire under investigation

A fire destroyed the Garden Fork restaurant at the corner of Keating Cross and West Saanich roads in Brentwood Bay, Vancouver Island, early on Saturday, June 6. Fire crews arrived around 3 a.m. to find the building engulfed from the basement to the attic, causing extensive damage. No injuries were reported and the blaze was contained before reaching nearby homes. The restaurant will remain closed pending the investigation.

The Central Saanich Police Service, working with the Central Saanich Fire Department, is leading the inquiry. Deputy Chief Paul Douglas appealed for anyone who saw anything unusual or who has dash‑cam or CCTV footage to contact the police, saying even small pieces of information could be critical in determining what occurred.
