Gardena and Einhell lead battery-powered garden tool tests

Recent testing of battery-powered garden tools highlights a shift away from petrol and corded devices toward more practical, low-noise cordless alternatives.

In a comprehensive test of 50 battery grass trimmers, the Gardena PowerTrim 30/18V P4A Solo was identified as a top performer. It was noted for its robust construction, effective PowerBoost mode for dense grass, and ease of maintenance, particularly regarding its simple line-winding mechanism. The Makita DUR193Z was also highlighted as an ideal option for precision work and edging, though it faced criticism regarding build quality and charging times.

Additionally, testing of the Einhell Professional GP-LS 18/28 Li T BL-Solo telescopic pruning shear demonstrated high cutting quality. The tool features a detachable telescopic pole allowing for a working height of up to 3.8 meters and can handle branches up to 28 mm in diameter. The bypass blades made of SK5 steel were noted for providing clean cuts, which helps prevent disease in plants.
