Gargždai begins construction of new 6 million euro nursery-kindergarten

The Klaipėda District Municipality has commenced construction on a new nursery-kindergarten in Gargždai. The project, located near a multifunctional sports center, is valued at over 6 million euros and will be executed by UAB SKANTO.

The single-story facility will cover more than 2,500 square meters and is designed to accommodate 225 children. The layout includes nine groups for kindergarten-aged children and three groups for infants. Key features of the modern facility include sensory rooms for young children, a universal sports hall capable of hosting two groups simultaneously, and direct outdoor access for every group.

Mayor Bronius Markauskas stated that expanding educational infrastructure is a municipal priority. This project is part of a broader regional effort to create nearly 1,800 new educational places, which includes ongoing and planned developments in Sendvaris, Mazūriškės, Derceliai, Ketvergiai, and Klemiškė I.
