Garlasco case: Forensic details on bicycle blood tests emerge
New details have emerged regarding the forensic investigation into the Garlasco murder case involving Alberto Stasi, who was convicted of killing his girlfriend, Chiara Poggi. Investigation files from the Ris of Parma reveal that certain blood tests were not performed on the pedals of Stasi's bicycle because the traces were considered too minute.
Expert Alberto Marino noted that immunological kits, such as the Hexagon Obti test, were deemed insufficiently sensitive for the traces found. While handwritten notes from September 2007 suggested a negative Obti test result, Marino later maintained that the profile obtained from the pedals was likely biological in nature and consistent with blood traces.
