The Pavia Prosecutor's Office has concluded new investigations into the 2007 murder of Chiara Poggi in Garlasco, notifying Andrea Sempio of the conclusion of the inquiry under article 415 bis. Sempio remains under investigation for aggravated homicide, with prosecutors citing several key pieces of evidence.

Technical findings include a footprint on a staircase wall (imprint 33) attributed to Sempio and a size 42 Frau shoe print compatible with his foot measurements. Additionally, DNA recovered from the victim's fingernails shows compatibility with the Sempio male genetic line. Medical-legal experts estimate the victim survived her injuries for 15 to 60 minutes.

The investigation has also highlighted potential discrepancies in the original 2007 case against Alberto Stasi, who is currently serving a definitive sentence. New analysis of raw data from the RIS of Parma suggests that two negative DNA tests regarding the victim's presence on Stasi's bicycle pedals were performed in September 2007 but were not included in the original case files. These findings may provide the necessary novelty for the defense or the Prosecutor General to request a trial revision for Stasi.
