Garlasco murder case: New forensic evidence re-examines Andrea Sempio

Investigators in the Chiara Poggi murder case are re-examining key forensic evidence related to Andrea Sempio. A central point of contention is “imprint 33,” a palm print found on the stairs leading to the basement. The Pavia Prosecutor's Office suggests it matches Sempio based on 15 points of correspondence, while the defense argues only five points are truly comparable. The location of this print near the victim's body and its potential relationship to a blood droplet (trace 45) are critical to the prosecution's reconstruction of the crime.

Additionally, investigators are scrutinizing an alibi involving a parking receipt from Vigevano dated August 13, 2007. A previously unheard witness has claimed knowledge of the receipt, suggesting it may not have been collected directly by Sempio, which could impact the reconstruction of his movements on the morning of the murder.
