Garlic Breath Freshened by Parsley and Herbal Remedies

Garlic breath persists because crushed garlic releases sulfur compounds that enter the bloodstream and are expelled through the lungs. A simple natural countermeasure is parsley, whose high chlorophyll content acts as a deodorizing agent; chewing a few fresh leaves can freshen breath within minutes. Other herbs also help: mint provides immediate menthol coolness, sage soothes the oral cavity, and lemon balm offers a mild citrus aroma. In Indian cuisine, it is customary to chew a mix of fennel, anise or cardamom seeds after a meal; these spices not only mask odor with their strong fragrances but also aid digestion. Cardamom’s citrus‑eucalyptus scent and clove’s eugenol, known for antibacterial properties, are similarly effective for breath freshening.
