Garmin and Google launch new wearable devices

Garmin has launched the Cirqa, a screenless smart band priced at $199. Designed for continuous health and fitness tracking without the distraction of a screen, the device offers up to 10 days of battery life and requires no subscription to access core metrics. It tracks over 80 activities and provides data on heart rate, stress, sleep stages, and training readiness via the Garmin Connect app.

Simultaneously, Google has unveiled the Pixel Watch 5. While the hardware remains largely similar to its predecessor, the new model features a faster processor, improved GPS accuracy, and enhanced AI capabilities through Gemini. The watch introduces the ‘Health Guardian’ suite, which includes tools for managing insulin resistance and blood pressure trends. A special Stephen Curry Edition is also available, featuring an exclusive band and watch face.
