Garmin expands wearable and cycling GPS technology

Garmin continues to expand its presence in the wearable and navigation markets with specialized devices for runners and cyclists. The Forerunner 265 GPS smartwatch features a 1.3-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 416 x 416 pixels, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Designed for athletes, the device offers up to 13 days of battery life in smartwatch mode and up to 20 hours in GPS mode. It is water-resistant up to 5 ATM and weighs approximately 47 grams.

In the cycling sector, Garmin’s Edge series provides advanced GPS bicycle computers. These devices utilize dedicated GPS chips alongside GLONASS and Galileo satellite constellations to track location, speed, and distance. The Edge series supports integration with various sensors, including power meters, heart rate monitors, and cadence sensors, and allows users to control Garmin Varia radar products for enhanced rider awareness.
