Garmin launches CIRQA Smart Band, first screenless fitness tracker

Garmin introduced the CIRQA Smart Band, a lightweight (14.8 g) screenless fitness tracker that can be worn on the wrist or upper arm. The band offers water resistance up to 5 ATM, over 80 sport modes, and advanced health metrics such as VO₂ max, HRV, SpO₂, stress detection and Body Battery, but it does not include ECG. Data are sync‑ed for free to the Garmin Connect app, and the device does not require a monthly subscription. Battery life is about ten days and charging requires removal of the band.

In a side‑by‑side review, the CIRQA was compared with the WHOOP 5.0. While WHOOP focuses on recovery and uses a subscription model, Garmin’s offering emphasizes detailed training analytics, a longer battery life per charge and a subscription‑free experience, positioning it for athletes who want robust performance data without ongoing fees.
