Garmin launches Forerunner 170 sport watch with new features and pricing
Garmin introduced two new sport watches, the Forerunner 70 and the Forerunner 170, on 12 May 2026. In France the Forerunner 70 is priced at €249.99, the standard Forerunner 170 at €299.99 and the Forerunner 170 Music version at €349.99.
The Forerunner 170 is a compact 42.6 mm square device weighing 41 g, built with a plastic case and a silicone strap. It offers a 390 × 390‑pixel AMOLED display, 5 ATM water resistance, GPS with high sensitivity, up to 20 days standby battery life and 30 hours in GPS mode. Sensors include heart‑rate monitoring, altimeter, barometer, accelerometer and ambient light detection. Connectivity features Bluetooth, ANT+ and Wi‑Fi, while Garmin Pay, music storage and AI‑driven training plans are also supported.
Garmin, a U.S. leader in GPS and wearable technology, positions the Forerunner 170 as a versatile tool for runners, cyclists and swimmers. Expert Jean‑Paul Dupuis praised the watch for combining advanced technology with ease of use, calling it a “watch that meets the needs of modern athletes.”
