Garmin launches screen‑free Cirqa fitness tracker
Garmin announced its first screen‑free smart band, the Cirqa, priced at £179 (about $199). The wearable tracks workouts, daily activity, sleep and recovery without notifications, and it does not require a subscription—full features are available through the Garmin Connect app. The device comes in two sizes, four main colours and offers interchangeable fabric bands that can be worn on the wrist or, with a separate accessory, on the upper arm. Reviewers note its lightweight Velcro strap, comfortable fit and up to ten days of battery life.
In comparisons with Google’s Fitbit Air, the Cirqa is positioned for athletes and fitness enthusiasts, offering advanced metrics such as body battery, fitness age and support for over 80 activity profiles. By contrast, the Fitbit Air targets casual users with a simpler health dashboard, about seven days of battery life and coverage of roughly 40 exercise modes, at a lower price point of $99. Both devices provide heart‑rate, sleep and stress monitoring, but Garmin’s offering emphasizes deeper performance insights while the Fitbit focuses on affordability and integration with Google’s ecosystem.
