Garmin to rename Dubai Metro station under 10-year deal

The ONPASSIVE Metro Station on the Dubai Metro Red Line is set to be renamed Garmin Metro Station. The change follows a 10-year naming rights agreement secured through AMIT Retail LLC, Garmin’s sole distributor in the United Arab Emirates.

This rebranding is part of a long-standing initiative by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) that allows businesses to gain visibility by branding stations across the Red and Green Lines. The program, which began in 2009, facilitates cooperation between the public and private sectors.

Other recent station name changes in the network include the renaming of GGICO to Al Garhoud, Al Khail to Al Fardan Exchange, UAE Exchange to Life Pharmacy, and Jebel Ali to National Paints.
