Garmin updates CIRQA fitness tracker with notification vibrations
Garmin has released firmware version 4.20 for its CIRQA screenless fitness tracker, introducing vibration alerts for incoming calls, text messages, and app notifications. Although the device was originally designed to avoid smartwatch distractions, the update enables physical nudges to alert users of smartphone activity, though the device lacks a display to read the content.
Users can manually enable or disable these three notification categories through the Garmin Connect app. The update also includes several functional improvements, such as automatic run/walk detection for trail running activities and the ability to calibrate recorded distances for indoor workouts like treadmill running, rowing, and cycling. Additionally, the Live Activity screen in Garmin Connect can now display heart rate data before an activity recording begins.
