Garmin Vivoactive 5 smartwatch features AMOLED display
The Garmin Vivoactive 5 is a compact smartwatch featuring a 1.2-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 390 x 390 pixels. As an upgrade to the Vivoactive 4, it transitions from a MIP display to a brighter, more vivid AMOLED screen.
The device is constructed from fiber-reinforced polymer with metal elements and weighs 36 grams. It includes a lithium-ion battery providing up to 11 days of life in smartwatch mode and up to 21 hours in GPS mode. For fitness and navigation, the watch utilizes GPS, Galileo, and GLONASS, alongside sensors for heart rate, blood oxygen (Pulse-OX), acceleration, and ambient light.
Smart features include Garmin Pay for mobile payments and 4 GB of internal storage for music via services like Spotify or Deezer. While it supports music playback, it lacks a speaker and microphone, meaning users cannot take calls or use smart assistants directly through the device. New fitness metrics introduced with this model include ‘Training Effect’ and ‘Recovery Time’ to help users optimize their workouts.
