Garmin wins Amazon India award for advanced health monitoring smartwatch

Garmin has been awarded the ‘Most Advanced Health Monitoring Smartwatch’ at Amazon India’s Best in Tech Awards 2026 (BITA 2026). The recognition focuses on the company’s health, fitness, and performance monitoring capabilities, including sensors and algorithms used to track metrics such as sleep, heart rate, and daily activity.

The award arrives during a period of contraction for the broader Indian smartwatch market. According to the IDC India Wearable Market Report for Q2 2026, the overall market declined 4 percent year-on-year. In contrast, Garmin’s advanced smartwatch shipments in India grew by 234.2 percent during the same period.

Garmin’s product range in India includes the Forerunner series for athletes, lifestyle models, and outdoor models. The company’s technology has also been utilized by medical institutions, such as AIIMS, for research involving human health data.
