Garotos Podres headlines Cidade Rock 2026 in Goiânia

Brazilian punk band Garotos Podres will close the sixth edition of the Cidade Rock festival on 11 July 2026 at the Centro Cultural Martim Cererê in Goiânia. The free concert requires a donation of one kilogram of food for entry and will be shared with four local groups – Psicofagia, Chef Wong’s, Lobinho e os Três Porcão and Burning Rage – supported by Sesc Goiás and the state arts fund.

Formed in 1982 in Mauá (SP), Garotos Podres celebrates 44 years of a career marked by politically charged lyrics and advocacy for the working class. The band’s discography includes seven studio albums, two live records and the recent collection “Canções de Resistência,” which features unreleased studio tracks and live recordings from their 40‑year anniversary tour. Internationally, they performed at Portugal’s Festa do Avante in 2024 and toured several European countries in 2025, appearing at the Rebellion Festival.

Cidade Rock, a monthly event that showcases independent rock from Goiás, aims to strengthen the local music scene and draw national attention to the city’s cultural landscape.
