Garrett Motion and GAC Commercial Vehicle debut new technologies at IAA Transportation 2026

At IAA Transportation 2026, Garrett Motion and GAC Commercial Vehicle showcased new technologies aimed at advancing the commercial vehicle industry through electrification and automation.

Garrett Motion introduced a new range of turbochargers designed for diesel and CNG applications, specifically targeting 13-litre engines used in global commercial markets. The company also presented zero-emission technologies, including a compact 2-in-1 electric powertrain developed in partnership with Hande Axle, which integrates an inverter and electric motor into a single unit. Additionally, Garrett unveiled a centrifugal refrigerant compressor that offers increased cooling capacity in a smaller, quieter package.

GAC Commercial Vehicle focused on its global expansion, debuting new-energy heavy and light commercial vehicle technologies. The company showcased L4 autonomous driving and battery-swapping solutions for its T9 truck through partnerships with Pony.ai and Aulton. GAC also introduced its MONTX light commercial vehicle brand to overseas markets, featuring concept vehicles and a user co-creation initiative.
