Garrett Rank wins fourth Canadian Men’s Mid-Amateur golf title

NHL referee Garrett Rank secured his fourth Canadian Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship title at the Brantford Golf & Country Club. The 38-year-old from Waterloo finished with an 18-under 270 total, securing a one-stroke victory after a final-round 69.

Rank clinched the win by sinking a 6-foot par putt on the final hole to break a tie. He finished ahead of Evan Nachtigall of Brandon, Manitoba, who fell to second place after bogieying the last hole. This victory marks Rank’s first Mid-Amateur title since his consecutive wins from 2014 to 2016. He holds five national titles in total, including the 2012 Canadian College/University Individual Championship.
