Garry Kasparov attends Mateusz Morawiecki's Rozwój Plus conference in Poland

Former world chess champion Garry Kasparov, known for his criticism of Vladimir Putin, took part in a full‑day conference organized by the Rozwój Plus association, a centrist‑right formation led by former Polish prime minister Mateusz Morawiecki. Kasparov played exhibition games with attendees and joined discussions on international security, demography, migration and the political strategy ahead of the 2027 parliamentary elections.

The visit was publicised on social media by European Parliament member Piotr Müller, who posted photos of Kasparov at the chessboard. Morawiecki did not comment publicly on the former champion’s presence, but announced that the next Rozwój Plus event is scheduled for 15 October.
