Garry Kasparov urges European military support for Ukraine

Former chess champion and democracy activist Garry Kasparov is calling on Europe to provide extended military support to Ukraine and adopt a firm deterrence policy against Russia. Kasparov argues that recent diplomatic visits to Moscow by Western figures may have inadvertently emboldened Vladimir Putin, reinforcing his belief that he can manipulate Western politics.

Kasparov noted that while some Eastern NATO members are recognizing the Russian threat, much of Europe remains in a state of indecision. He warned that a slow realization of the threat may not be sufficient to win the conflict.

In a separate perspective, former Shakhtar Donetsk footballer Darijo Srna expressed strong condemnation of Vladimir Putin, describing him as a leader who finds satisfaction in killing. Srna expressed confidence in the Ukrainian military and leadership, suggesting that the current Russian position is fragile and akin to an inflated balloon that requires a single decisive action to collapse.
