Garth Brooks discusses rodeo connection and athleticism
Country music star Garth Brooks recently discussed his long-standing connection to the rodeo circuit during an interview with Taste of Country Nights. While Brooks has performed at various rodeo events, including the Lazy E and international finals, since the beginning of his career, he noted that he does not view himself as a competitor.
Brooks joked that he would need to lose 200 pounds to be an actual cowboy athlete, stating, “I was never good enough athlete to do it. If I would, I'd be 200 pounds less than I am right now.” He expressed high regard for rodeo participants, describing them as “amazing athletes” and noting the distinction between performing on stage and competing in the arena.
