Gartner Identifies AI and Data Platforms as Top Clinical Trial Technologies
Gartner’s 2026 Hype Cycle for Life Science R&D highlights three technologies it deems most promising for clinical development: Clinical Data Analytics Platforms that unify trial data across systems, Risk‑Based Quality Management to improve oversight, and GenAI Clinical Intelligence for AI‑enabled workflows. The report notes adoption barriers such as legacy data warehouses, paper‑based processes and unclear ROI, but suggests these tools can increase transparency and efficiency in trial operations.
Grove AI, a startup founded in 2024 by co‑founders Tran Le and Sohit Gatiganti, built an AI‑driven voice agent to automate clinical trial recruitment, allowing patients to find suitable studies through conversational interaction. After raising $4.9 million in seed funding, Grove AI was acquired by Hippocratic AI in January 2025. The acquisition aims to scale the technology, reducing manual recruitment bottlenecks and improving patient access to trials.
