Garuda Indonesia expands tourism and digital services
Garuda Indonesia is implementing several initiatives to enhance the travel experience for international tourists and improve connectivity. In collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism and Mastercard, the airline has launched the ‘Garuda Indonesia Stopover Program’. This initiative aims to distribute tourist spending more broadly across Indonesia by encouraging multi-destination travel. By offering domestic connecting flights at no additional cost for eligible long-haul and regional passengers, the program seeks to move tourism away from concentrated hubs like Bali and Jakarta toward other regional destinations.
Additionally, Garuda Indonesia has partnered with Yoowifi Indonesia to provide eSIM services covering more than 160 countries. This digital service allows passengers to arrange internet access before departure, facilitating easier communication and navigation upon arrival in foreign destinations. The airline stated that these efforts are part of a commitment to provide value-added services that extend beyond standard flight operations.
