Garuda Indonesia flight lands safely in Makassar after technical issue
A Garuda Indonesia Boeing 737-800 flight (GA604) traveling from Jakarta to Makassar landed safely at Sultan Hasanuddin International Airport on Thursday morning after experiencing technical difficulties.
Reports indicate the aircraft encountered issues with its landing gear, specifically a tire malfunction. Before landing, the crew performed a fly-pass to allow ground crews to observe the situation and ensure readiness. Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) teams, along with various support vehicles, were stationed on standby to manage the arrival.
The aircraft successfully landed on Runway 03 at 09:13 WITA. All 156 passengers and the flight crew were reported safe. Following the landing, passengers were transferred to the terminal via four buses, with the final passenger exiting the aircraft by 09:53 WITA. Singer Ari Lasso, who was among the passengers, praised the pilots' skill and the airport's emergency preparedness.
