Garuda Indonesia wins loyalty awards and launches new tourism initiative

Garuda Indonesia's loyalty program, GarudaMiles, has received two international honors at the 2026 Frequent Traveler Awards and Loyalty Summit in Chicago, USA. The program won in the categories of “Best Airline Customer Service” and “Airline Loyalty Program of the Year,” marking the second consecutive year of recognition for the program.

In a separate strategic move, Garuda Indonesia has partnered with the Indonesian Ministry of Tourism and Mastercard to launch the “Garuda Indonesia Stopover” program. This initiative aims to distribute international tourist spending more broadly across Indonesia by connecting long-haul and regional passengers to secondary domestic destinations.

The program allows eligible international travelers to add domestic connecting flights to participating destinations at no extra cost when booking. This effort seeks to shift travel patterns away from concentrated hubs like Bali and Jakarta toward other regions to stimulate local economies.
