Garuda International Cup 2026 to host 13 nations in Indonesia

The Garuda International Cup (GIC) 2026 is scheduled to take place from August 19 to 23 at the ASIOP Training Ground and AYO Arena in Sentul, Indonesia. The tournament will feature participants from 13 countries, including nine Southeast Asian nations, two from South Asia, and two from East Asia. Competitions will span five age categories: U-10 Boys, U-12 Boys, U-15 Boys, U-15 Girls, and U-17 Boys.

Technical Advisor Indra Sjafri expressed his ambition for the GIC to reach the prestige of the Tournoi Maurice Revello (Toulon Tournament), aiming to attract top global academies and develop elite talent. To support this long-term development, the organizers plan to establish a comprehensive player database covering current and past participants.

Among the notable participants is Vietnam’s PVF Academy, a three-star accredited institution recognized by the AFC. The PVF U-12 Boys team will compete in Group C alongside teams from Indonesia and Malaysia. PVF officials noted that the GIC represents their first international tournament participation, providing a vital platform for high-level skill development.
