Garut experiences multiple fires including residential and forest land

Multiple fire incidents have been reported across the Garut Regency in West Java. In the Singajaya and Sukaresmi districts, fires broke out at an empty school building and a semi-permanent residence, respectively. The school fire resulted in approximately Rp10 million in material losses, while the residential fire was suspected to be caused by an electrical short circuit. No casualties were reported in these incidents.

Additionally, significant land fires have affected the Mount Cikuray and Mount Guntur areas. Approximately five hectares of Perhutani-managed land were destroyed by flames. Joint teams from the police, military, BPBD, and fire departments prioritized extinguishing fires near residential settlements to prevent further spread. Due to difficult terrain, crews utilized manual portable sprayers and firebreaks to control the blaze.
