Garut Regency explores agricultural cooperation with South Korea

The Garut Regency Government has initiated discussions to establish international agricultural cooperation with South Korea. During a meeting on August 21, 2026, Garut Regent Abdusy Syakur Amin met with a South Korean delegation to explore potential collaborations between Garut and the city of Damyang.

The discussions focused on implementing modern cultivation technologies for horticultural commodities, specifically garlic and strawberries. The local government aims to leverage South Korean expertise in developing large-sized, sweet strawberry varieties and improving local garlic production to strengthen national food security. This meeting serves as an initial step toward drafting a concrete cooperation agreement.
