Gary Smith, 74, and William A. Smith Jr., 82, Die in Ohio and Pennsylvania

Gary Smith, 74, died on July 28, 2026, in Delphos, Ohio, after injuries from a car‑pedestrian accident on December 16, 2025. He was a former maintenance mechanic at Federal‑Mogul, a veteran farmer, and a longtime member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Surviving relatives include his wife Joanne, son Daniel, daughters Jennifer and Erin, numerous grandchildren and great‑grandchildren, as well as siblings and extended family. A funeral Mass will be held on July 31 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, followed by burial at Resurrection Cemetery.

William A. Smith Jr., 82, passed away on July 27, 2026, in Rostraver Township, Pennsylvania. A 1962 graduate of Rostraver High School, he earned a degree in agriculture from West Virginia University and spent much of his life working on the family farm. He was an active member of Rehoboth Presbyterian Church, serving in several leadership roles. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carolyn, son Troy, daughter Nikki, numerous grandchildren, great‑grandchildren, and siblings. Funeral services are scheduled for July 30 at James C. Stump Funeral Home and July 31 at Rehoboth Presbyterian Church.
