Gas canister explosion injures two at Lagoa de Santo André campsite
A gas canister explosion at the Lagoa de Santo André Camping Park in Santiago do Cacém resulted in two injuries on Thursday night. The incident involved a small spray gas canister typically used for camping stoves.
A 56-year-old woman sustained serious injuries, including first and second-degree burns to her face, upper limbs, and thorax, as well as minor burns to her airways. After initial treatment at the Hospital do Litoral Alentejano, she was transferred to a hospital in Coimbra.
A 50-year-old man also suffered minor first-degree burns to his skull, face, upper limbs, and thorax. He was treated at the Hospital do Litoral Alentejano. The camping park reported that operations have continued normally following the incident.
