Gas Explosion in Çorlu Apartment Claims Two Lives

A powerful gas explosion struck the top‑floor apartment of the six‑storey Adalet Apartments in Çorlu, Tekirdağ Province, in the early hours of the evening. The blast caused a fire, partially destroyed the front wall, and forced the evacuation of the building, which houses about 89 residents. Emergency services – police, fire fighters, health teams and AFAD – responded and extinguished the fire. Authorities confirmed two people were killed and two others injured; one of the injured later died despite medical care. Local officials said the explosion was likely caused by a natural‑gas leak.
