Gas supply halted in several Csongrád-Csanád towns in Hungary for two days
On August 25‑27 2026, Magyar Földgázszállító Zrt. will carry out planned maintenance on Hungary’s national gas transmission system, resulting in a temporary suspension of gas service in five locations in Csongrád‑Csanád County: Szatymaz, Röszke, Domaszék, Balástya and the Szeged‑Kiskundorozsma district. The outage begins at 08:00 on 25 August and ends at 08:00 on 27 August. MVM has advised all residential and non‑residential customers in the affected area to shut off the main gas valve before the shutdown, refrain from using gas appliances during the break, and reopen the valve once service resumes. The company stresses that the interruption is scheduled and not caused by a fault, and that only minimal safe pressure will be maintained in the network throughout the maintenance period.
