Gascue and Ciudad Nueva residents report prolonged power outages
Residents and business owners in the Gascue and Ciudad Nueva sectors of the Distrito Nacional are reporting frequent and prolonged power outages. These interruptions, which sometimes last between six and twelve hours, are causing significant economic losses and domestic difficulties.
Local residents report that the outages often occur on weekends, leading to the spoilage of refrigerated food and making it difficult to manage household tasks. The situation is exacerbated by high temperatures. Furthermore, affected citizens have expressed frustration over rising electricity bills despite the unreliable service. The electricity distributor, EDEESTE, has attributed these interruptions to ongoing maintenance work.
