GasEntec receives Lloyd's Register approval for high-capacity FSRU design
GasEntec has received Approval in Principle (AiP) from Lloyd's Register (LR) for a high-capacity liquefied natural gas (LNG) Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) design. The concept is capable of delivering up to one billion cubic feet of gas per day.
A defining feature of the design is its multi-mode regasification system, which can operate in open, closed, and combined-loop modes. This modular architecture allows operators to adapt to varying environmental conditions, regulatory requirements, and specific project needs. Once implemented, the design is expected to be among the world's largest and most operationally flexible FSRUs by send-out capacity.
The approval follows an independent assessment by Lloyd's Register regarding the design's technical and safety fundamentals. GasEntec intends to use this AiP to advance the design toward execution and support various FSRU owners and developers.
