Gasibu Field in Bandung to close for renovations through early 2027
The West Java Provincial Government has announced the temporary closure of the Gasibu Field area in Bandung for renovation and optimization. The closure is scheduled to begin on September 1, 2026, and is projected to last until early 2027.
West Java Regional Secretary Herman Suryatman stated that the primary focus of the project is the repair of the jogging track, which has deteriorated due to age. The goal is to improve public safety and prevent injuries, such as sprains, while also enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the area to align with the existing landscape. The project aims to optimize existing facilities rather than constructing massive new infrastructure.
Adi Komar, Head of the West Java Communication and Informatics Department, advised the public to avoid all physical activities within the Gasibu area during this period to ensure safety and the smooth progress of the work. Once completed, the area is expected to provide a more organized, safe, and functional public space for residents.
