Gasoline prices decrease nationally as crude oil costs ease

National gasoline prices in the United States have seen a decline, with the average price for a gallon of regular gas falling to $4.06. This represents a three-cent decrease over the past week, a trend attributed to crude oil prices entering the $70-per-barrel range and expectations regarding stabilized operations in the Strait of Hormuz. Currently, half of the U.S. states report average gasoline prices below $4 per gallon.

In Indiana, gas prices were reported at an average of $3.49 per gallon, which is 52 cents lower than the national average. While Indiana's gas prices are down compared to last week, they remain 27 cents higher than a month ago and 33 cents higher than a year ago. Diesel fuel in Indiana averaged $5.33 per gallon.

Regarding electric vehicles, the national average cost at public charging stations remained steady at 42 cents per kilowatt-hour, while Indiana's average was slightly higher at 43 cents per kilowatt-hour.
