Gasoline prices in Minnesota's Twin Cities rise to $3.93 per gallon, could hit $4 soon

GasBuddy reports that the average gasoline price in Minnesota's Twin Cities has climbed to $3.93 per gallon, an increase of 6.8 cents from the previous week. Prices are up 18.3 cents compared with a month ago and 92.6 cents higher than a year earlier. The cheapest station in the area sells gasoline at $3.49 per gallon, while the most expensive is $4.19, a spread of 70 cents; statewide prices range from $3.34 to $4.50.

The national average has risen to $3.95 per gallon and analysts expect it could reach $4 within the next 48 hours. Experts attribute the surge to constrained global refining capacity and ongoing geopolitical tensions, including the U.S.–Iran situation and attacks on Russian refineries linked to the Ukraine conflict. Motorists are warned to expect continued higher prices in the coming days.
