Gasparri defends defense ministry over Saudi Arabia mission claims

Maurizio Gasparri, President of the Senate Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, has dismissed criticisms from the Democratic Party (PD) regarding military missions involving Saudi Arabia. Gasparri stated that the mention of Saudi Arabia in the approved July document was clear and is supported by physical paper records.

He accused the opposition of spreading false claims and confusing documents from different years. Gasparri clarified that the Ministry of Defense is acting within the framework of a mission involving several Middle Eastern countries and that military leaders have repositioned personnel for security reasons within the territories authorized by the parliamentary vote.
