Gassal series marked by deaths of three artists across three seasons

The TRT Tabii series ‘Gassal’ has drawn social media attention due to a series of deaths involving contributors to the show across its three seasons.

In the first season, legendary arabesque singer Ferdi Tayfur passed away on January 2, 2025, following the performance of his song ‘İçim Yanar’ by Şahin Kendirci. In the second season, songwriter and musician İlhan Şeşen died on May 26, 2025, just two days after the season finale featured a song he wrote.

The pattern continued into the third season with the death of actor Serhat Kılıç on September 5, 2026, at the age of 51. Kılıç had been part of the cast during the second and third seasons.
