Gastón Acurio Velarde, Acción Popular founder, dies at 95

His son, the renowned chef and entrepreneur Gastón Acurio Jaramillo, announced the death via social media, sharing an emotional tribute to his father's integrity and political legacy. Acurio Velarde served as a minister during the administration of Fernando Belaúnde Terry and was a significant figure in Peruvian national politics during the 1980s and 1990s.
