Gastronomy initiatives launched in Trabzon and Van

Regional culinary traditions are being promoted through new festivals and educational projects in Turkey. In Trabzon, the Trabzon Gastronomy Festival is currently underway at the Yenimahalle Fair Area. The event aims to preserve and pass on local culinary heritage to future generations. The Of Municipality is participating in the festival, showcasing traditional items such as corn bread, su böreği, pumpkin dessert, pickled vegetable sauté, and Of tea.

In Van, construction has begun on the Van Culinary Arts Academy, a gastronomy high school located within the Sahil Yolu Fidanlık Park. The project aims to boost gastronomy tourism and provide professional training in areas including cooking, service, menu planning, cost control, and kitchen management. The initiative follows previous proposals to establish a culinary center to strengthen the city's position in the gastronomy sector.
