Gastronomy trends highlight service competitions in Peru and celebrity dining in Spain

In Peru, the Masters of Service competition is underway to recognize excellence in restaurant hospitality. Driven by the Fundación Gastronomía Social with support from Coca-Cola Perú and Arca Continental Lindley, the 100-day initiative involves 620 participants from 57 establishments. Unlike traditional culinary contests, this competition focuses on service quality rather than recipes. Evaluation is based on two pillars: direct customer feedback via QR codes and hospitality training assessments. To date, participants have completed approximately 1,500 hours of training through trivia-based hospitality tests.

In Spain, high-profile dining establishments in Madrid's Chamberí district continue to attract notable figures. El Huerto de Floren Domezáin, led by chef Floren Domezáin, has hosted prominent guests including Queen Sofía, Rafa Nadal, and former Prime Minister Felipe González. The restaurant is recognized for its focus on vegetable-based cuisine, featuring ingredients sourced from the chef's own garden.
