GastroPrau Fest debuts in Gijón to support Asturian gastronomy
The inaugural GastroPrau Fest took place at the Muséu del Pueblu d'Asturies in Gijón, serving as a cultural and gastronomic event to support Asturian rural heritage. Organized by Tierra Astur Sidrerías, the festival aimed to bridge the gap between rural and urban Asturias to prevent the disappearance of local gastronomic traditions.
Nearly 500 attendees gathered at the Tendayu to sample products protected by the ‘Alimentos del Paraíso Natural’ quality seal. The central focus of the event was Los Beyos cheese, which was showcased alongside other regional specialties including Asturias DOP cider, Asturian beef IGP, Cangas DOP wine, Asturias IGP honey, and Chosco de Tineo IGP.
The event featured live musical performances by artists such as José Manuel Tejedor, Algaire, Picarós, Eva Hevia, and the Saxum bagpipe band, who participated to support the cause. High-ranking officials attended, including the Mayor of Gijón, Carmen Moriyón, and various representatives from the Asturian agricultural and rural development sectors.
